About the position

As a Registered Nurse (RN) with DirectEmployers, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to special needs children, particularly those in middle school age. This position requires a current unrestricted RN license in the state of Illinois, along with at least one year of paid RN experience. You will be responsible for working with tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent patients, ensuring that each client receives thoughtful and personalized care based on their individual Plan of Care. Your duties will include monitoring and tracking changes in the clients' conditions, proactively updating their families about health changes and concerns, and keeping the Director of Nursing informed about any significant developments in patient care. The role offers flexible scheduling options, allowing you to build a work schedule that fits your lifestyle. You will have the opportunity to work in various settings, including home health and facility shifts, with PRN options available. Responsibilities

  • Trach and Vent care for patients
  • Working with special needs children (middle school age)
  • Providing thoughtful care to clients and patients based on personalized Plan of Care
  • Monitoring and tracking changes in the client/patient's conditions and needs
  • Keeping the Director of Nursing and other appropriate personnel informed
  • Proactively updating clients/patients' families on plan of care, health changes, and concerns

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted RN license in the state of Illinois
  • At least 1 year of paid RN experience
  • Valid TB Clearance, CPR Certification, and Work Physical
  • Valid Driver's License and vehicle with insurance

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in home health care
  • Familiarity with mobile time tracking and care notes
