About the position

As a Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant at One Medical, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient experiences by performing venipuncture and supporting various clinical and administrative tasks. This position emphasizes human connection and service, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care throughout their journey. You will manage daily operations, assist with inventory and scheduling, and act as a key point of contact for patient feedback, all while maintaining a welcoming office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best in class venipuncture services on a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs.
  • Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
  • Manage dispensary responsibilities including verifying counts, maintaining inventory, placing orders, receiving and stocking, filling, packaging and labeling prescriptions for patient pick-up.
  • Continue to care for members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers with clerical duties.
  • Use impeccable C-I-CARE in all patient interactions to ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience.
  • Perform all front of house duties including check in/check out, insurance verification, and prepping tests.
  • Assist senior patients with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, sending faxes, and coordinating transportation.
  • Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, and supporting in-office providers.
  • Perform opening and closing duties/daily office upkeep as required.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems simultaneously.
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care.
  • A proven track record of persisting through change and learning quickly when faced with new situations or tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Phlebotomy experience and/or certification preferred.
  • Experience with extended scope care including non-blood specimen collection and processing, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs preferred.
