About the position

Print Works Bistro is seeking a friendly and energetic Event Manager to join our team of enthusiastic event professionals dedicated to providing outstanding experiences to our guests in a fast-paced environment. The Event Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that every event is executed flawlessly, aligning with our mission to be of genuine service to our guests, fellow staff members, owners, and the Earth and her people. This position requires a commitment to excellence and a passion for hospitality, as the Event Manager will be the face of our events, advocating for our guests and ensuring their experiences exceed expectations. In this role, the Event Manager will lead a team responsible for delivering exceptional service to all event guests. This includes setting up event spaces, serving catered food and beverages, and possessing extensive knowledge of our seasonal restaurant offerings. The Event Manager will also maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety, ensuring that all maintenance, security, and sanitation protocols are adhered to at all times. A key aspect of this position is to act with diplomacy and tact in all interactions, taking ownership of both intentions and perceptions. The Event Manager will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training all event staff members, ensuring that the events team is fully staffed with the right individuals. Additionally, the Event Manager will help write and ensure all schedules are completed with the appropriate number of staff based on availability. Implementing and training sustainable practices initiatives will also be a part of the role, along with anticipating revenue and cost issues to manage discretionary expenditures effectively. Identifying major revenue and expense opportunities and ensuring daily controls, including checklists, payroll tracking, and inventory management, are also critical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly and perform consistently following the mission and values of the organization in our enthusiastic work environment

  • Act as a leader with diplomacy and tact in all interactions, taking ownership of intentions and perceptions
  • Recruit, hire, and train all event (banquet) staff members, ensuring the events team is fully staffed with the right people
  • Help write and ensure all schedules are completed with the correct amount of staff based on availability
  • Implement and train sustainable practices initiatives
  • Anticipate revenue/cost issues and manage discretionary expenditures to stabilize cash flow
  • Identify major revenue and expense opportunities and possible issues
  • Ensure daily controls are happening, including completing checklists, payroll tracking, and inventory management

Requirements

  • Clear understanding of the banquet/event process
  • Friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented
  • Passion for hospitality
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and initiative
  • Understanding of Delphi Salesforce is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, including creating spreadsheets
  • Understanding financial data
  • Ability to retain and recall detailed information
