About the position

Mary Giuliani Catering and Events (MGCE) is a prestigious boutique catering firm based in New York City, renowned for its high-end catering services since 2005. As we continue to grow, we are seeking talented Event Chefs and Kitchen Assistants to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-2 years of solid experience in off-site catering or restaurant catering. They will be responsible for executing menus as directed by the chef for a variety of events, ranging from intimate cocktail receptions to large seated dinners accommodating 10 to over 1000 guests. A high skill set in culinary arts and a keen eye for flawless presentation are essential. Candidates must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, natural leadership qualities, and the ability to take direction effectively. Physical endurance is crucial, as the role requires standing for prolonged periods and lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds. A positive, can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to act as a brand ambassador for MGCE are vital attributes. Punctuality and adherence to uniform standards are expected, along with a general knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements. Additionally, candidates must own a knife kit and possess a valid NYC Food Handler Certificate. These positions offer a competitive hourly rate ranging from $30.00 to $45.00, with opportunities for growth for the right candidates. Responsibilities
