About the position

The Event Coordinator at Mayo Clinic is responsible for planning and implementing events at Historic Properties. This role involves directing personnel associated with each event, ensuring successful execution, and providing a welcoming experience for guests. The coordinator will manage on-site operations, including audio-visual setups and conducting tours, while also being accountable for event closure and future planning.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement events at Historic Properties.
  • Direct all personnel associated with each event, both internal and external to Mayo Clinic.
  • Manage on-site implementation of day and evening events.
  • Confirm event setup details and greet guests.
  • Set up and operate standard audio-visual equipment.
  • Conduct tours and present the history of the Historic Properties to guests.
  • Ensure accountability for event execution and closure.
  • Plan ahead to ensure staff and equipment availability for future functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with three years' experience in event management, event planning, or hospitality industry experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in banquet and catering management at a fine dining facility preferred.
  • At least two years of supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Mayo Clinic and its history is desired.
  • Experience working with a variety of professionals (physicians, scientists, administrative staff) is desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal, public relations, communications, and organizational skills are required.
  • Self-motivated and energetic individual who conducts themselves in a highly professional manner.
