We provide clients with complete event solutions from destination management to corporate and live event production, impactful event design, luxury rentals, custom design builds and fabrication, unique entertainment, and completely elevated immersive event experiences. Position Overview: The Event & DMC Service Manager will work in tandem with our internal departments to oversee the full execution of a program. This position serves directly under the Director of Services and oversees the execution of all events, activities, transportation, planning, and organizing of field staff, subcontractors, and vendors. Duties include those listed below as well as any other responsibilities required directly by the Director of Operations or Executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Mid-Range to Larger Scale events and/or DMC programs and special events.
  • Supervise and oversee Operations Coordinators.
  • Prepare and review manifests, and staff, and book transportation for arrivals and departures, group activities, dine-around, or show tickets.
  • Create and review event orders and schedule of events and confirm that all services and necessary preparations are in order.
  • Direct, supervise, and coordinate the activities of field staff, subcontractors, and vendors as required to successfully execute the assigned events during the planning stage and onsite.
  • Work closely with hotel catering and convention service managers, venue & restaurant contacts to ensure a successful program.
  • Effectively communicate information through written correspondence and oral communication with the client, hotel/venue contacts, and internally.
  • Attend pre-convention meetings with DBD salesperson.
  • Accountable for all other aspects of programs and events set forth by the company’s operations service standards.
  • In charge of approving and finalizing invoices, timesheets, and all credit card back-up for charges relating to the operation of a program.
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of the industry and internal Destinations by Design Departments.
  • Primary contact and principal liaison during an event.
  • Determine needs and resolve problems by making strategic, business-oriented, and client-serving decisions required to ensure a successful event.
  • Develop and manage successful business relationships with clients and vendors in an effort to provide exceptional customer service and increase the probability of future bookings/returns.
  • Develop paperwork for the planning of a successful event (work orders, floorplans, event reports and final invoicing).
  • Supervise and train staff, support team growth, and own day-to-day management responsibilities.
  • Research and approve all event expenses (gifts, décor, entertainment, emcees, collateral, F&B) while staying on budget.
  • Stay informed on trends and technologies in the event and related industries.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Experience within the hospitality industry two years plus.
  • Flexible Work Schedule - ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Maintain a valid Nevada Drivers License.
  • Ability to work successfully and solve problems in a deadline-driven environment where multitasking is commonplace.
  • Excellent interpreting skills on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
  • Extensive computer experience and knowledge which must be included.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of accounting practices.
  • College degree preferred or equivalent.
  • Knowledge involving the acquisition of equipment, supplies, and policies & procedures.
  • Ability to implement and utilize Material Management Information System (MMIS) and EDI.
