About the position

We are a division of our larger corporation, which gains us access to national marketing resources and support. The Event Field Marketing Manager will communicate and negotiate with individuals and groups outside the organization, representing our local team to home show sponsors, the public, and other external sources. This role involves creating and planning the annual local calendar of events where our products and services can be showcased, including retail outlets, events, and home shows. The Event Field Marketing Manager is also responsible for providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person on local venues and events where our products and services can be demonstrated with the intent of generating qualified leads. Evaluating the success of current and past participation and recommending a course of action for future participation is crucial. The manager will identify appropriate displays for each event and work with designated parties responsible for delivery and set-up to ensure that installation of displays is performed on time and within budget while meeting all codes and safety requirements. Flexibility is key, as the Event Field Marketing Manager will be required to participate in community events. You will be working alongside your staff at events and stores in the area to train and demonstrate lead generation capabilities. Recruiting, training, and maintaining the staff necessary to reach company goals is also a significant part of this role. Willingness to work any day needed to complete all tasks, including weekends, is essential, as this is not a typical Monday to Friday position. Achieving the goals set by our management team will allow for career advancement into the Regional Event Field Marketing Manager role, which includes a larger coverage area and higher salary.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and negotiate with individuals and groups outside the organization, representing the local team to home show sponsors and the public.
  • Create and plan the annual local calendar of events for showcasing products and services.
  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates about local venues and events for lead generation.
  • Evaluate the success of current and past participation in events and recommend future actions.
  • Identify appropriate displays for each event and coordinate delivery and set-up to ensure compliance with codes and safety requirements.
  • Participate in community events and work alongside staff to train and demonstrate lead generation capabilities.
  • Recruit, train, and maintain staff necessary to achieve company goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications preferred or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities.
  • 2 years of experience in planning events in a management setting that includes in-person lead generation.
  • Ability to think strategically with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to self-manage resources (time and budget) to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to analyze the effectiveness of events, sponsorships, and local programs.
  • Understanding of marketing communications, sales promotion, and advertising roles.
  • Demonstrated analytic skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel and Access.
