About the position

The Event Crew II position at Biltmore is a vital role within the Event Operations team, primarily responsible for the setup and strike of various special events, including weddings and other functions. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards. The Event Crew II will be expected to operate company vehicles for the delivery, pickup, and installation of event equipment, demonstrating a commitment to safety and efficiency in all operations. In this role, the Event Crew II will engage in a variety of essential duties, including the safe operation of a box truck, providing exceptional service to both internal customers and guests, and handling the loading and unloading of tables, chairs, and other rental items. The individual will also be responsible for setting up rental equipment, ensuring that it meets company quality expectations, and rigging lightweight items such as small chandeliers and bistro lighting. Additionally, the role involves connecting power requirements and completing the installation of various tent styles, showcasing the need for both technical skills and attention to detail. The Event Crew II will work closely with the Event Operations Supervisors and Managers, contributing to a collaborative team environment while also being capable of taking initiative and exercising good judgment in dynamic situations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is dedicated to delivering world-class service to guests and clients alike.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup and strike of special events, weddings, and functions.
  • Properly and safely operate a box truck for deliveries and pickups.
  • Provide friendly, professional service to internal customers and guests.
  • Load and unload tables, chairs, and other event rental items.
  • Setup rental equipment and ensure quality matches company expectations.
  • Rig items weighing 25lbs and under, such as small chandeliers and bistro lighting.
  • Connect power requirements up to 20 amps for event setups.
  • Complete the installation of express/high peak/pop up style tents without supervision.
  • Safely operate a warehouse forklift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.
  • At least one year of prior experience working with event setup and logistics preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing world-class internal/external guest service.
  • Solid interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality, service, and safety.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and adapt as required.
  • Ability to take direction and execute instructions successfully.
  • Proactive and exercises good judgment; can troubleshoot as needed.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic guest service environment.
