About the position

The Event Management Intern will assist in the planning and execution of corporate events, focusing on logistics management, vendor coordination, and communication. This internship provides hands-on experience in event management, allowing the intern to develop skills in project work, collaboration, and professional communication within a corporate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Event logistics auditing & management, including attendee registration, transportation, accommodations, food & beverage, technology, and production.
  • Timely communication of event details to appropriate operations or vendor partners on behalf of the Event Planner.
  • Execution of live, hybrid or virtual corporate events, including pre and post event needs.
  • Pre & post contract vendor management including requests for quotes, coordination of vendor materials and service, and day-of-event planning liaison.
  • Assists the business unit in completing assigned tasks, including project work and day-to-day operations.
  • Participates in training programs, workshops, and on-the-job learning opportunities.
  • Participates in summer internship program events, including Lunch and Learns.
  • Completes assigned tasks and projects efficiently and effectively, following instructions and guidelines.
  • Conducts research, gathers data, and analyzes information relevant to assigned projects.
  • Takes responsibility for administrative and support tasks of the department.
  • Collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders to communicate progress and challenges.
  • Works on projects that provide opportunities to collaborate with other interns and associates.
  • Identifies and resolves issues or challenges that arise during the internship.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Develops business skills in communication and shadowing other professionals.
  • Maintains accurate records, documenting progress, and preparing reports or presentations.
  • Attends business unit meetings as assigned and creates and delivers presentations.
  • Seeks feedback from supervisors or mentors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience.
  • Actively enrolled in an academic institution in pursuit of a degree in a relevant course of study or a recent college graduate, typically having attained a degree within the past 12 months.
  • For field roles, valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
