About the position

Be part of a legendary landmark destination at the newly renovated Casa Marina by joining our leadership team as an Event Manager! Casa Marina is located in the southernmost point in the U.S., Key West, and embodies the elegance and character of Old Key West, offering an exciting opportunity to be a part of this award-winning team. Nestled along the southern edge of the island overlooking more than 1,100 feet of private beach, this historic hotel has 311 rooms, 4 food and beverage outlets, and over 11,000 square feet of banquet space. As the Event Manager, you are responsible for event documentation and coordination with Sales, hotel departments, and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases of all hotel events. You will be required to ensure a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales. Recognizing opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events is a key part of your role. You will serve as the event planner's primary contact following turnover on property and be responsible for their experience. Your essential functions will include organizing, planning, and prioritizing your duties by developing plans and goals. Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents, or in person is crucial. You will create and maintain relationships with clients to set and meet expectations and deliver on those expectations. Demonstrating knowledge of job systems, products, systems, and processes is essential. You will also resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts. Selling and influencing both internal and external clients, making decisions, and solving problems by analyzing and evaluating issues to determine the best solution are also part of your responsibilities. Ensuring high-quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand guest needs, providing direction and guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed is vital. Participation in customer site inspections and assisting with the sales process as necessary will also be part of your role. Regular attendance is expected as well.

  • Perform other duties as necessary based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of hospitality-related experience at manager level.
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc) is advantageous.
  • Relevant degree in business development or other relevant business field (CMP, CPCE) is preferred.
