About the position

The Event Manager for the College of Medicine at Florida State University is responsible for overseeing all aspects of event management, including planning, coordination, and execution of faculty, student, and staff events. This role involves implementing policies and procedures to assist departments in event planning, managing classroom scheduling, and serving as a liaison between the College and other FSU departments. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful events and may involve occasional travel and evening or weekend hours for special events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all phases of event management for faculty, student, and staff events.
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures for event planning.
  • Provide guidance and support to college departments regarding event management.
  • Serve as a liaison to FSU departments related to event management.
  • Manage various recurring events and events at the discretion of the Dean.
  • Maintain and reserve event materials and supplies.
  • Oversee classroom scheduling and ensure appropriate distribution for student education.
  • Collaborate with others to assist with event planning and logistics.
  • Communicate with Public Affairs for event awareness.
  • Determine event layouts, maps, and setup diagrams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and four years of experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience.
  • Valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License, or ability to obtain one prior to hire.
  • Ability to move/lift up to 20 lbs.
