About the position

The Hilton Americas Houston is seeking an Event Manager to join their dynamic team, responsible for orchestrating and executing exceptional group events at our stunning hotel located in downtown Houston. The Catering and Events Department plays a crucial role in managing contracted groups, social event food and beverage services, meeting room revenues, and overall guest experiences. This position is pivotal in ensuring event planner satisfaction while meeting or exceeding both departmental and individual revenue goals. As an Event Manager, you will oversee event documentation and coordinate with the Sales team, various hotel departments, and customers to guarantee a consistent, high-level service throughout all phases of hotel events, including pre-event, event, and post-event. You will be tasked with ensuring a seamless transition from sales to service and back to sales, recognizing opportunities to maximize revenue through upselling and offering enhancements that contribute to outstanding events. You will serve as the primary contact for event planners following the turnover on property, taking full responsibility for their experience. In this role, your essential functions will include organizing, planning, and prioritizing your duties by developing actionable plans and goals. You will maintain timely communication with both internal and external clients through various channels, including telephone, email, and in-person interactions. Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes will be crucial. Building and maintaining relationships with clients to set and meet their expectations is key, as is resolving conflicts and negotiating effectively while handling complaints and grievances. You will also be responsible for selling and influencing both internal and external clients, making informed decisions, and solving problems by analyzing issues to determine the best solutions. Ensuring high-quality service will involve communicating effectively and assisting others in understanding guest needs, providing direction, guidance, feedback, and individual coaching as necessary. Participation in customer site inspections and assisting with the sales process will also be part of your responsibilities, along with other duties as required based on business needs. Regular attendance is expected to maintain the high standards of service that Hilton is known for.
