About the position

As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of events from conception to completion. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their objectives and create unique events that exceed expectations. The position requires creativity, organization, and a proven track record in event management.

Responsibilities

  • Understand client's needs and objectives and develop event concepts and proposals to meet their requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute events from start to finish, including budgeting, venue selection, design, décor, catering, entertainment, and logistics.
  • Manage event timelines and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of all elements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and coordinate with all vendors and suppliers involved in the event.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure the best rates and services while staying within budget.
  • Create and maintain event budgets, and track expenses to ensure they stay within budget.
  • Communicate event details and updates with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Attend and oversee events to ensure they run smoothly and handle any issues that may arise.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback from clients and identify areas for improvement.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in event management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in event planning and management.
  • Proven ability to manage and execute large-scale events from start to finish.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as per event requirements.
