About the position

The Event Manager at Ole Red Las Vegas is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of assigned events, ensuring smooth execution of food and beverage services, and managing the service staff during private and special events. This role involves direct communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams to create detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines, while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the lifecycle of assigned events, managing food and beverage activities.
  • Direct service staff in the execution of private and special events.
  • Communicate with prospective clients, planners, and vendors regarding event details.
  • Conduct site visits and create budget estimates for events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for rental and special event clients.
  • Build master project plans addressing specific objectives and needs of clients.
  • Formulate detailed timelines and spatial layouts for events.
  • Create and manage budgets, keeping clients informed of any deviations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and vendors on event development.
  • Review banquet event orders for accuracy and distribution.
  • Act as a liaison to the kitchen staff regarding menu selections and service details.
  • Create buffet/table diagrams and station assignments for events.
  • Lead event setup, ensuring cleanliness and safety of event rooms.
  • Prepare server packets prior to events, including run-of-show and floor plans.
  • Conduct pre- and post-shift meetings for all events.
  • Supervise servers to ensure service standards are met during events.
  • Greet and align with clients prior to events, serving as the main contact.
  • Handle guest and maintenance issues as necessary during events.
  • Maximize upsell opportunities and ensure timely submission of invoices to Accounting.
  • Maintain procedural documentation for internal accounting and financial controls.
  • Manage event calendar for optimal utilization and revenue generation.
  • Project supply needs for events and control inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Provide necessary training to staff on customer service and food and beverage offerings.
  • Uphold corporate standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in food & beverage or event planning and production.
  • Experience with restaurant management principles and equipment is helpful.
  • Familiarity with event calendar/tracking systems such as Tripleseat Guest & Event Management preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with differing deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire employees to deliver top-notch service.
  • State Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC, TAM) Certification required.
  • State Food Handler Safety Card required.
  • Non-Gaming Sheriff's Work Permit Card required upon hire.
  • ServSafe Certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required.
