About the position

The Senior Event Manager is responsible for coordinating event travel and virtual event programs for specific clients, providing leadership to the internal team, and creating engaging experiences for attendees. This role involves managing multiple events simultaneously, ensuring all details are meticulously handled, and collaborating with internal teams to meet client needs and budget requirements. The Senior Event Manager also mentors junior staff and works on complex international events, contributing to process improvements and training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the operation of event travel and virtual event programs for clients.
  • Provide thought leadership to create engaging experiences for attendees.
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously, ensuring all details are handled.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet deliverables and client needs.
  • Optimize relationships with third-party suppliers.
  • Mentor Event Managers and assist in training and development.
  • Identify and facilitate the fiscal year's training plan for the department.
  • Host learning labs and roundtables for team development.
  • Review program workflows for inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
  • Act as a trainer and mentor for new team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Liberal Arts, Public Relations, or Communications.
  • Five years' experience in event management or three years in ITA Group's Event Management division.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial principles and experience in budget management.
  • Experience in negotiations within a business environment.
  • Excellent human relations skills and flexibility.
  • Proactive thinking and ability to see the big picture.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

  • Customer service experience in a service-related industry.
