About the position

The Event Manager at Maverik Center is responsible for overseeing the Event Services Department, ensuring that all events run smoothly and efficiently. This full-time exempt position reports directly to the Assistant General Manager and involves supervising ushers, security personnel, ticket takers, and parking attendants during events. The Event Manager will play a crucial role in training, scheduling, and evaluating staff, as well as maintaining high standards of parking and guest services. In this role, the Event Manager will prepare the facility for opening and closing during events, particularly in the absence of the Co-Event Services Manager or Assistant General Manager. They will monitor activities during events, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies as they arise. A significant emphasis will be placed on managing parking services, which includes developing and implementing a comprehensive parking program for all guests. The Event Manager will also be responsible for ensuring financial accountability and maximizing parking revenues, overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of the parking lot, and serving as the primary liaison for all parking-related inquiries and concerns. Additionally, the Event Manager will prepare responses to public correspondence with patrons and perform other duties as assigned. This position requires a proactive individual who can function with minimal supervision, handle complaints effectively, investigate incidents, and write detailed reports. The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is essential for this role. The Event Manager must demonstrate the ability to react well under pressure, maintain accuracy and thoroughness, and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to function with minimum supervision and handle complaints effectively.
  • Strong investigative skills and ability to write reports.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to react well under pressure and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
