About the position

The primary purpose of the Event Service Manager (ESM) at Daxton Hotel is to serve as the client liaison with the hotel operations team, ensuring the successful execution of events. This role involves detailing group and event sales bookings to maximize revenues and create upsell opportunities. The ESM will be responsible for completing, reviewing, and distributing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), offering upgrade options to clients, collecting contracted deposits, and obtaining client signatures on BEOs. Effective communication of group details and changes to all hotel departments is crucial to meet customer expectations and ensure efficient property operations. In collaboration with various teams, the ESM will conduct pre-convention meetings with clients and hotel staff to ensure that each event aligns with client expectations. Post-convention meetings will be held to gather feedback, recognize key associates, identify areas for improvement, and inform clients about satisfaction surveys. The ESM will monitor guest room blocks and event space to ensure groups meet their contractual obligations, initiating the release of unused rooms and event spaces on the cut-off date to allow for resale. Communication with clients regarding potential attrition charges due to low pickup is also a key responsibility. The ESM will oversee the payment process, ensuring the accuracy of invoices and compliance with the sales contract. Maintaining booking activities in the Hotel Sales & Catering software system is essential, including documenting communication between clients, hotel staff, and the accounting department. The ESM may assist with sales duties, such as conducting site tours and selling catering events. Ensuring group clients can make reservations and receive accurate billing involves building group masters in the brand system, setting up billing and routing, following up on rooming lists, and managing commission payments. Participation in the Group Scrub Meeting and other duties as required is also expected.
