About the position

Acquisition.com is seeking an Event Manager to join our dynamic team in Las Vegas, NV. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000 per year. The Event Manager will play a pivotal role in our mission to provide real-world business education to entrepreneurs. Our training division has already empowered over 1000 business owners through workshops, and we are on track to achieve $100M in revenue by 2025. The Event Manager will lead our event production teams, ensuring exceptional workshop experiences for both our audience and speakers. This role requires a hands-on approach to planning, executing, and managing events from concept to completion, while also navigating the fast-paced environment of a hyper-growth startup. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall event strategy, overseeing the entire event lifecycle, and leading the event team. You will coordinate with various departments to ensure all aspects of the event are covered, identify potential risks, and create contingency plans. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you create playbooks and checklists to ensure every event runs smoothly. You will also handle day-to-day administration tasks, manage event budgets, and actively engage with guests to create memorable experiences. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in event management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing the overall event strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the entire event life cycle from concept to execution.
  • Lead the event team, providing direction, mentorship, and support.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure all aspects of the event are covered.
  • Identify potential risks, create contingency plans, and solve issues that arise during the planning and execution phases.
  • Develop a complete understanding of the requirements for every event by creating playbooks and detailed checklists in Asana.
  • Handle day-to-day administration of events and programs, including order placements, detailed run of show creation and review, vendor logistics, travel planning, restaurant reservations, registration counts, and issues resolution.
  • Assist at on-site events, including coordination with secondary vendors, room counts, signage coordination, run of show and other related duties.
  • Partner with the team to conceptualize, plan, and execute engaging workshops from start to finish.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring a welcoming and approachable presence for all guests.
  • Research, source, and collaborate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to create compelling workshop agendas.
  • Oversee the registration process, manage attendee databases.
  • Lead on-site coordination, handling any issues that may arise to ensure a smooth event.
  • Manage event budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Review guest satisfaction surveys and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as an Event Manager or similar role, with a track record of successfully executed events.
  • Experience planning multiple business or learning events spanning multiple days for 100 - 500 people.
  • Must be based in Las Vegas, NV.
  • Customer relations / guest management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions.
  • Proficient in project management software.
  • Experience managing and adhering to a budget.
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to bring fresh ideas to workshop planning.
  • Upbeat attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where they will have a lot of autonomy.
