About the position

The Event Manager at Planmeca USA Inc. is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day event planning within the Education Department, ensuring a great experience for all attendees while maintaining fiscal responsibility, efficiency, and timeliness for various events including customer, dealer, employee events, and tradeshows. This role reports directly to the Director of Education and collaborates closely with department teammates to execute successful events. The Event Manager will manage all aspects of event planning, from initial planning calls to logistics such as Cvent registration, hotel accommodations, meals, reservations, and transportation arrangements. In this position, the Event Manager will oversee direct reports and work with teammates to coordinate event details including agendas, guest speakers, and auxiliary educators. The role also involves managing the events calendar, coordinating onsite logistics, and ensuring smooth operations and hospitality during events. The Event Manager will review and monitor customer surveys on a monthly basis, providing necessary communication with team members, trainers, and management to ensure all needs are met. Additionally, budgeting and expense tracking for each event will be required, with reports submitted to management via the SF Dashboard. The Event Manager will also be responsible for managing relationships with vendors, including travel, catering, hotels, and transportation companies, and will outline standard operating procedures with each vendor partner. Adherence to company policies and procedures regarding workplace behavior and performance standards is essential. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in event planning for small and large groups.
  • Experience with CVENT/event registration platforms, Salesforce, and Office 365 preferred.
  • Familiarity with education operations preferred.
  • Highly proficient computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize a large volume of tasks.
  • Ability to learn various event management platforms.
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
