About the position

The Event Manager at Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines is responsible for executing and coordinating exceptional events at the hotel, ensuring a seamless experience for clients from pre-event planning through to post-event follow-up. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and prioritize duties by developing plans and goals.
  • Communicate timely with internal and external clients via various channels.
  • Create and maintain relationships with clients to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, and processes.
  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate with clients while handling complaints and disputes.
  • Sell and influence both internal and external clients.
  • Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing issues and determining solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality service by understanding guest needs and providing guidance and feedback.
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
  • Attend to other duties as necessary based on business needs.

Requirements

  • 1 year of hotel event management experience.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for hospitality.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate effectively.
  • Experience in selling and influencing clients.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in upselling and offering enhancements for events.
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and practices.
