About the position

The Event Manager at Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines is responsible for executing and coordinating exceptional events at the hotel, ensuring a seamless experience from pre-event planning to post-event follow-up. This role involves working closely with sales, hotel departments, and clients to maximize revenue and deliver outstanding service, all while embodying the values of Hilton's hospitality culture.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and prioritize duties by developing plans and goals.
  • Communicate timely with internal and external clients via various channels.
  • Create and maintain relationships with clients to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, and processes.
  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate with clients while handling complaints and grievances.
  • Sell and influence both internal and external clients.
  • Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing issues and determining solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality service by understanding guest needs and providing guidance.
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
  • Attend to other duties as necessary based on business needs.

Requirements

  • 1 year of hotel event management experience.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for hospitality.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Sales and influencing skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of event planning processes and systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in upselling and offering enhancements for events.
  • Familiarity with customer site inspections.
