Major Food Group, the powerhouse restaurant group behind renowned establishments like Carbone, THE GRILL, and Sadelle's, is seeking an Event Sales Manager to join our dynamic South Florida team. This role is pivotal in continuing our mission to create multi-dimensional, immersive experiences that transport our guests to memorable moments. As an Event Sales Manager, you will be responsible for responding to inquiries regarding private events and group dining at our properties, ensuring that every event is executed flawlessly and meets our high standards of service. In this position, you will maintain and develop our corporate and social events markets, working closely with the Major Food Events management team to maximize event revenue and streamline logistics for a seamless guest experience. You will liaise with clients throughout the booking and planning process, negotiating pricing, generating contracts, and securing payment details. It is essential to follow department and company procedures to ensure that confirmed events are communicated effectively to both internal and external teams. Your role will also involve collaborating with clients on customized menu options, beverage details, floor plans, and all specifics pertaining to their events. You will maintain and update event information in our catering software program to generate accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). Participation in weekly meetings with chefs and managers to communicate catering details is crucial, as is providing on-site support for events to ensure proper execution of all details. You will also be tasked with problem-solving and creatively driving sales goals, generating new business leads through proactive outreach to both new and existing clients, and assisting with special projects as assigned while adhering to deadlines. Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming inquiries for private events and group dining at Major Food Group's properties.
  • Maintain and develop the corporate and social events markets.
  • Work on the Major Food Events management team to maximize event revenue and streamline logistics for a seamless guest experience.
  • Liaise with clients throughout the booking and planning process by negotiating pricing and estimates, generating contracts, securing payment details, etc.
  • Follow department and company procedures to ensure confirmed events are communicated to appropriate internal & external teams.
  • Work with clients for confirmed events on their customized menu options, beverage details, floor plans, room set up notes, run of show and all specifics pertaining to their event.
  • Maintain and constantly update event information in our catering software program to generate accurate BEO's.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with chefs and managers to communicate all catering details for events.
  • Communicate in an organized and timely manner all of the logistics and specifics of the party to on-site management and provide on-site support for events where necessary to ensure proper execution of all event details.
  • Problem solve, and creatively drive sales goals.
  • Generate new business leads through proactive outreach to new and existing clients.
  • Provide assistance with special projects as assigned adhering to deadlines.
  • Act as an ambassador to Major Food Group Culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a similar role.
  • Deep understanding of local Miami culture, history, geography, and key players.
  • Remain up to date on business news and local news in Miami to identify new business opportunities.
  • Previous sales experience in either the luxury or hospitality industry required.
  • Experience in event coordination, management, or production.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must bring a book of existing clients and relationships.
