About the position

The Event Marketing Manager at Aptiv plc is a pivotal role responsible for the planning, analysis, and support of North American automotive and technology-focused events. This position demands flawless execution of selected events, which encompasses detailed planning, logistical coordination with vendors, performance analysis, budget management, and comprehensive reporting to ensure the success of the events managed. The role is set in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring a candidate with strong attention to detail and a collaborative spirit, capable of working across various business units and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in event management, omnichannel marketing program delivery, and data analysis, coupled with a genuine passion for the automotive industry. The responsibilities include collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to plan and execute events, coordinating all logistics from internal on-site customer events to large-scale tradeshows and exhibits, and developing detailed event timelines and production schedules. The Event Marketing Manager will also be involved in researching and reviewing events for participation, ensuring that all aspects of the event align with the company's objectives and technology content. In addition to event production and coordination, the role requires effective communication skills to manage day-to-day interactions with management, define urgent items, and address roadblocks to execution. The manager will liaise with various teams, including consumer and product marketing leads, to align event goals with company objectives. Budget management is another critical aspect of the role, requiring detailed estimating skills to plan and deliver events within the approved budget, along with thorough tracking and communication with stakeholders to maximize the event budget. Data collection and analysis are essential for assessing event performance and identifying areas for improvement. The manager will provide detailed post-event analysis and reports to stakeholders, tracking ongoing event performance tied to key business pursuits across business units. Additionally, the role involves conducting market research to identify trends and opportunities within the automotive event space, monitoring competitor activities, and staying updated with new event technologies. The Event Marketing Manager will utilize event management software and tools to streamline planning and reporting processes, ensuring the effectiveness of events.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to plan and execute events.
  • Coordinate all event logistics from internal on-site customer events to varying scale of tradeshows and exhibits.
  • Develop detailed event timelines and production schedules.
  • Participate in research and review of events for participation.
  • Manage day to day communications with their Manager, clearly define urgent items and roadblocks to execution.
  • Liaise with consumer and product marketing leads, commercial teams, and product teams to align event goals with appropriate technology content and company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with external partners and vendors to ensure successful event execution and all expectations are met and delivered on.
  • Prepare presentations on event performance and insights, experience delivering metrics that deliver an impactful and actionable message.
  • Detailed estimating skills in order to plan and deliver events to the approved budget.
  • Thorough tracking of budget and communication with both internal and external stakeholders to maximize event budget.
  • Collect and analyze data from events to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide detailed post-event analysis and reports to stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within the automotive event space as it relates to event execution, registration, technology, vendors.
  • Familiar with and actively monitoring competitor activities and industry developments.
  • Utilize event management software and tools to streamline planning and reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in event planning and analysis, preferably within the automotive or technology industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and analyzing small to large-scale events.
  • Experience working with agency vendors and partners for successful partner management and communication.
  • Experience managing event and production timelines across a large scale company and cross channel workstreams to deliver a successful outcome.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding and delivery of performance measured omnichannel marketing programs including events, CRM, account-based marketing, digital, social, PR, internal comms, investor relations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and event management software (Cvent or other event management registration platform).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
