About the position

The Event Marketing Manager at SHRM is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of B2B2C event marketing campaigns. This role focuses on creating engaging, personalized experiences for corporate buying committees and individual attendees, utilizing an audience-centric, omni-channel approach. The manager will oversee the full event marketing lifecycle, ensuring the integration of storytelling, omnichannel campaigns, and partnership marketing to drive business growth and individual engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage comprehensive marketing strategies that engage B2B and B2C audiences, ensuring alignment with business goals and audience needs.
  • Leverage data analytics and customer insights to create hyper-personalized marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee multichannel marketing efforts, including email marketing, social media, SEO, paid ads, and content marketing, ensuring consistency and targeting for both B2B and B2C audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design interactive and immersive experiences pre- and post-event that captivate business decision-makers, members, and non-members.
  • Build and manage relationships with key partners, influencers, speakers, and sponsors to enhance event visibility and credibility across industries.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling content, storytelling, blog posts, and videos that drive excitement and participation.
  • Use analytics tools to measure, optimize, and report on the performance of marketing efforts, adjusting strategies to maximize ROI in real-time.
  • Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, ensuring successful execution of marketing initiatives and continuous team development.
  • Pilot AI-driven tactics within the event marketing lifecycle to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
  • Develop and manage event marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective strategies and ROI-driven campaigns.
  • Stay ahead of event marketing trends and emerging technologies, incorporating innovative strategies to elevate the attendee experience.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in event marketing, with a focus on B2B2C or similar industries, and preferably 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., CJA, AEM, etc.) and marketing automation platforms, with preferred experience in Marketo.
  • Experience leading and motivating marketing teams, with a focus on collaboration and performance-driven results.
  • Demonstrated experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, including social media, out-of-home, email, and paid media.
  • Strong content marketing skills, with the ability to develop engaging and relevant narratives for business and consumer audiences.
  • Familiarity with event platforms for virtual and hybrid events (e.g., Zoom, On24) and key digital engagement tools (e.g., Rainfocus).
  • Ability to interpret data to drive decisions, optimize campaigns, and ensure measurable event success.
  • Proven track record in managing partnerships and influencer relationships to enhance event visibility.
  • Strong creativity and problem-solving skills to design and execute unique event experiences that align with industry trends.
