About the position

O.C. Tanner is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented event marketing leader to manage the Influence Greatness conference, a premier event in the employee reward and recognition industry. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create impactful event experiences that engage top HR leaders globally, while also shaping the broader event strategy for tradeshows and conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, shape, budget, plan, and execute the Influence Greatness conference from concept to completion.
  • Manage internal and third-party suppliers for various aspects of the conference including promotion, registration, branding, and logistics.
  • Oversee a team of event specialists and at least one direct report, along with contractors.
  • Incorporate brand messaging, product highlights, and case studies into the event experience in collaboration with research, brand, and product teams.
  • Communicate event details effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure engagement from Sales, CS, field marketing, and demand gen teams.
  • Work with marketing and sales teams on post-event follow-up and engagement strategies.
  • Create and execute the event strategy, tactical plans, and project management from beginning to end, including logistics and post-event follow-up.
  • Source and manage vendor and agency relationships for event planning and execution.
  • Set goals and measure the success of event marketing initiatives through key metrics.

Requirements

  • 4-6+ years of B2B event marketing experience, both virtual and in-person events.
  • Experience with promotion, marketing, and communication of large events.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead them through project plans, budgets, and goals.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-profile events involving senior management.
  • Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail; ability to manage and report on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, managing third-party vendors, and overseeing support staff and budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively under pressure while remaining positive and flexible.
  • Creative thinking around new event opportunities, strong planning and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
