About the position

The Event Marketing & Partnerships Manager for the Undiscovered and Small Business Accelerator (USBA) at Amazon is responsible for leading event marketing strategies that enhance the brand and support Black entrepreneurs through the Black Business Accelerator (BBA). This role involves end-to-end ownership of event programming, including community, partnership, and owned events, with a focus on delivering high-quality experiences for selling partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event marketing, team management, and data-driven decision-making, ensuring that events align with business objectives and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with a team of event marketing managers and program managers to set strategy and long-term thinking.
  • Define event goals and timelines related to key deliverables and communicate expectations to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to understand key messaging and roadmaps for successful event activations.
  • Own the measurement of event programming and content, and associated KPIs.
  • Serve as an internal advocate for customer needs, ensuring awareness of customer pain points.
  • Track and manage event budgets.
  • Partner with Integrated Marketing Communications Leader for multi-year planning activities.
  • Develop and distribute key post-event reporting, establishing core event marketing mechanisms.
  • Formulate event marketing strategies aligned with overall business and marketing objectives.
  • Manage event content and stakeholders from cross-functional partners to speakers.
  • Develop and manage budgets for events, optimizing costs while delivering impactful experiences.
  • Identify, negotiate with, and manage relationships with event vendors and partners.
  • Oversee the end-to-end planning and logistics of events in partnership with the broader team.
  • Create promotional strategies to drive attendance and collaborate on marketing materials.
  • Measure the success of events through post-event analysis and feedback gathering.
  • Ensure events reflect and enhance the brand image, fostering positive associations with attendees.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and event best practices.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience.
  • Experience managing teams.
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables).
  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience owning event program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines.
  • Experience developing cross-functional relationships, including internal communications, public relations, and Pan-Amazon teams.
