About the position

The Event Meeting Manager at Rand Tower Hotel is responsible for overseeing the execution of events, ensuring exceptional customer service and support for hotel and conference center guests. This role requires a creative and motivated individual with a strong background in event planning and food and beverage management, aimed at driving conference revenue and enhancing guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve budgeted revenue inclusive of food, beverage, room rental, audio visual and miscellaneous revenue.
  • Work closely with leadership to ensure group food and beverage contribution aligns with budgeted expectations.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager to ensure proper setup of event spaces.
  • Ensure conference guests receive adequate support and setup for all technology needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of conference spaces during events.
  • Solicit and book business while attending networking events.
  • Conduct site visits and secure new business based on property needs.
  • Enter actual group revenues in the sales/catering software system.
  • Suggestively sell menus and services to meet client needs and maximize revenues.
  • Adhere to all accounting policies regarding payment.
  • Check function room setups prior to guest arrival to ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Meet with Chef prior to function time to verify arrangements and food presentation quality.
  • Welcome group contacts upon arrival and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Foster a cooperative working climate and maximize productivity.
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by senior management.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in event planning and execution.
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage management.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to engage with diverse clientele.
  • Experience in high volume conference center operations.
