About the position

The Event Meetings Manager at Senna House Scottsdale is responsible for managing all aspects of small meeting groups, including planning, soliciting, booking, and coordinating events to meet revenue goals. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure high service standards and client satisfaction while promoting the hotel’s services and maximizing revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of small meeting groups with under 20 rooms per night, including meeting space, contracts, rooming lists, billing, VIPs, and upgrades.
  • Solicit, negotiate, and confirm all social group blocks booked.
  • Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition.
  • Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to previous, current, and potential clients.
  • Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
  • Book functions accurately into Delphi and ensure that meeting and room arrangements are to specifications.
  • Assist in supervising the banquet operation to ensure the highest service standards.
  • Handle all inquiries, site inspections, and correspondence with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.
  • Work closely with the sales/catering department to maximize group catering revenues by adhering to the correct rates and prices.
  • Support the strategic planning and long-term development of the group sales and the sales catering departments' operational, financial, and service goals.
  • Plan and prepare with all outlets for events and coordinate unique requirements to meet the client's needs, pace, and degree of personalization while actively promoting hotel services.
  • Identify, customize, and deliver individual guest requirements.
  • Work additional hours as needed or when requested.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of conference services sales experience in hospitality, preferably in an upscale establishment.
  • Thorough knowledge of sales techniques, including strong closing and negotiating skills.
  • An understanding of both monthly forecasting and the annual budget process.
  • Delphi knowledge is a plus.
  • Room experience is a plus.
  • Upscale boutique hotel experience is a plus.
