About the position

The Event Operations Coordinator (Part-time) at Belmont University is responsible for coordinating event operation details and facilitating the set-up, execution, and tear-down of campus events. This role supports the Office of Event Services by managing administrative tasks, scheduling staff, and maintaining event space equipment to ensure successful event execution on campus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist with proactive planning for campus events through event advancing and inventory management.
  • Supervise and facilitate the conversion of event spaces, overseeing full-time and part-time staff.
  • Assist Event Operations leadership with staffing needs, including training, scheduling, and monitoring of part-time staff and third-party vendors.
  • Maintain equipment and asset inventory, recommending improvements or replacements as necessary.
  • Act as the lead back of house contact for assigned events, providing operational and technical support.
  • Support the event management team in advancing events and coordinating operational needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in venue management, hospitality, audio/video/lighting, or a related field is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in venue/facility conversions, audio/video/lighting, and/or hospitality is required; 4-6 years preferred.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze data, and propose solutions.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Forklift training/certification is a plus.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
