About the position

Commerce Casino is seeking an experienced Event Planner to join our dynamic team. As the world's largest card casino, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional events that meet the high expectations of our clients. The Event Planner will be responsible for managing events from conception through to completion, ensuring that every detail is meticulously planned and executed. This role requires a strong background in event management or hospitality, along with excellent communication and organizational skills. The Event Planner will work closely with the Senior Event Specialist and the Sales Special Events Team to liaise with clients, understand their needs, and keep them informed throughout the planning process. In this position, you will assist in preparing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure that all necessary attendants from various departments are available for successful event execution. You will be responsible for planning and organizing all in-house meetings and events, proposing ideas to enhance service quality, and communicating effectively with internal departments. The ability to negotiate contracts with clients and service providers is essential, as is the capacity to multitask efficiently and address client concerns promptly. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a flexible work schedule, capable of managing multiple projects independently while maintaining a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with Delphi software are required, with training available for those who need it. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of service that Commerce Casino is known for, and we are looking for someone who can contribute positively to our team and our clients' experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Event Specialist & Sales Special Events Team in liaising with clients to find out their needs and keep them up to date on the progress of the planning process for their event.
  • Assist in preparing the BEO learns from Senior Event Specialist packages, rates etc.
  • Ensure the availability of attendants needed from various departments to ensure a successful event.
  • Responsible for planning and organizing all in-house meetings & events.
  • Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality.
  • Communicate efficiently with internal departments.
  • Exercise excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients and service providers.
  • Multitask efficiently.
  • Identify and solve client concerns.
  • Select the best price for products and services.
  • Maintain Event Binder.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Meetings and Event Management or a related discipline such as hospitality, marketing or public relations.
  • At least 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Delphi software is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Sales skills and ability to build productive business relationships.
