About the position

The Event Planner/Administrative Assistant position at Princeton University is a temporary part-time role focused on supporting the Department of Psychology. The role involves managing event logistics and performing various administrative tasks for both graduate and undergraduate programs, contributing to the vibrant academic community.

Responsibilities

  • Manage event logistics including scheduling, room requests, attendee communication, tech setup, catering, and cleanup.
  • Create and finalize promotional materials such as flyers and pamphlets, coordinating with printing and mailing services.
  • Assist with semester preparations and ongoing administrative tasks.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in event planning and management or related administrative roles.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with Zoom videoconferencing.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Google Workspace.
  • Availability for some nights and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a higher education setting, working with faculty.
  • Knowledge of Concur or similar travel expense processing systems.
  • Familiarity with university applications and expense policies.
