About the position

The Event Planner/Communication Specialist at IDAC is responsible for planning and coordinating events that engage cooperative members and enhance the organization's brand presence. This role requires excellent communication skills and experience in event planning, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute a variety of events, including educational workshops, member meetings, and industry events.
• Coordinate logistics with travel agencies, hotels, and venues to ensure smooth event operations.
• Manage event budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships.
• Develop and distribute promotional materials for events, including newsletters, invitations, and social media content.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for event inquiries from members and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain clear communication channels to keep members informed about upcoming events.
• Organize travel arrangements for team members and attendees, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgets.
• Coordinate overnight accommodations and logistics for events held in various cities and hotels.
• Collect feedback from event participants to evaluate the success of events and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare post-event reports and presentations for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in event planning and coordination.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on member engagement.
• Ability to travel overnight as needed for events.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
