About the position

aVenue Event Group is seeking a dynamic and multi-talented Event Planning & Community Events Manager who will take on a hybrid role combining event planning, promotional event creation, and the management of our venue coordinators. This individual will be a key player in optimizing our venue operations, driving revenue through strategic event initiatives, and ensuring seamless execution of events across our portfolio, including venues such as The Balcony Orlando and Chapel & Cellar. In this role, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of events, including corporate functions, social gatherings, and promotional events. You will collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements, assisting with vendor selection, budget management, and upsell opportunities. Additionally, you will create and distribute comprehensive event documentation, including timelines, layouts, and event orders. You will also be responsible for conceptualizing and managing promotional events to maximize venue usage during non-peak times, such as open house events, ticketed culinary experiences, themed social events, and industry expos. Identifying and utilizing open dates that are unlikely to be booked for private events will be crucial in turning these times into profitable opportunities. Working closely with the marketing department, you will effectively promote both planned and promotional events to ensure high engagement and attendance. As a manager, you will supervise, train, and manage a team of venue coordinators, ensuring they are well-equipped to support events and deliver exceptional service. You will assign duties and provide on-site leadership during events, troubleshooting any issues that arise and ensuring smooth operations. Conducting regular performance evaluations and offering feedback and development opportunities for the venue coordinator team will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A strong background in event planning and management, with proven experience in coordinating both private and promotional events.
  • Experience in managing a team, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop others.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Creative and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field is preferred.
