About the position

The Family Service Director (Event Planner/Funeral Director) at Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services plays a crucial role in providing compassionate support to families during their time of need. The position also involves coordinating with various internal departments and external providers to ensure a seamless experience for the families served. In addition to direct interaction with families, the role includes administrative responsibilities such as managing schedules, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The Family Service Director will also participate in ongoing training and continuous education programs to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field. Responsibilities

  • Guide families through the process of making informed decisions regarding funeral products and services.

  • Manage multiple funeral cases simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuous education programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid funeral director license preferred; ability and desire to obtain a license in California is a plus.
  • Valid state issued driver's license with a good driving record and proof of insurance required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a customer service role requiring direct public contact.
  • Strong knowledge of the Catholic faith, rituals, and traditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several funeral cases at the same time.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, software, and technology.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience with special event planning and coordination.
