About the position

The Corporate Event Planner position at the JPMorgan Client Center in Los Angeles is a contract role requiring 30 hours of work per week, specifically from Monday to Friday, between 7 am and 5 pm. This position is 100% onsite and demands some flexibility in working hours. The Client Center serves as a sophisticated meeting facility for JPMorgan Private Bank's clients, where the primary responsibility is to ensure a first-class experience for guests. The planner will be tasked with managing the day-to-day operations of client meetings and small banker-led events, ensuring that all aspects of the events reflect the high standards of JPMorgan. In this role, the Event Planner will set guidelines and establish service protocols to enhance the client experience, anticipating and addressing guests' needs effectively. The planner will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with catering vendors and building management, ensuring that all logistical aspects of events are handled smoothly. Administrative tasks will include processing invoices, scheduling maintenance, ordering supplies and equipment, and maintaining an organized inventory of Client Center supplies. The Event Planner will ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards set by the Client Center and the firm, managing expenses to keep operations within budget. Regular communication with hosts will be essential to obtain feedback on product quality and services, and the planner will assist in surveying client experiences annually, proposing solutions based on the feedback received. Additionally, the planner will support the manager and Private Bank team with administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Set guidelines and establish service protocols to enhance client experience; anticipate and address guests' needs
  • Oversee day to day client meetings and manage small banker-led events as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain relationship with catering vendor and building management
  • Perform administrative tasks including invoice processing, scheduling maintenance, ordering supplies and equipment, and additional tasks as needed
  • Maintain Client Center supplies inventory, ensuring all necessary items are in stock and well organized
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards of the Client Center and the firm
  • Manage Client Center expenses to ensure all operations are within budget
  • Connect with hosts regularly to obtain feedback on product quality and services
  • Assist in surveying client experience annually and proposing solutions based on feedback
  • Assist manager and Private Bank team on administrative tasks and special projects as needed

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning or hospitality management
  • Experience in the hospitality, service, and/or catering industry recommended
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate clearly amongst a variety of personalities
  • Excellent organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to master various database products (i.e. Event Management System)
  • Ability to work early morning and late evening events
  • Working knowledge of audio visual systems (i.e. Zoom)
