About the position

The Event Planner at Savage will be responsible for planning and executing both in-person and virtual events, managing logistics, technical details, and financial aspects associated with events of varying scales. This role supports the Marketing team for external events and aims to enhance engagement among Team Members through strategic event planning aligned with the company's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing an events strategy that reinforces the company's purpose and builds engagement among Team Members.
  • Organize, plan, and execute the coordination of company events and activities.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of Savage's annual Leaders Forum, a multi-day conference for leaders.
  • Act as a liaison with outside vendors for various resources needed for events.
  • Partner with other departments to support their events and coordinate company activities.
  • Establish key metrics and develop relationships to evaluate the success of events.
  • Assist with organizing and implementing volunteer activities.
  • Support the communications and marketing departments with other initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of event planning and management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, English, or related field is preferred.

  • Calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with Team Members, customers, and the public.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management experience.
  • Effective knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience planning and coordinating large-scale events and conferences.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Creative design experience, including graphic design, photo, and video-editing software experience.
