About the position

The Event Planner at Husch Blackwell LLP is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of firm and client events, including meetings, seminars, and social gatherings. This role requires a strong background in event management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external vendors. The Event Planner will lead strategic planning sessions, manage event logistics, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure superior service throughout the event lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initial planning and strategy sessions with stakeholders to align events with business goals.
  • Organize and manage all facets of firm and client meetings and events.
  • Conduct market, vendor, and venue research, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Develop and execute promotion and communication plans to drive event registration and engagement.
  • Utilize CRM systems to manage event-related data and attendee lists.
  • Oversee event logistics, including on-site support and troubleshooting.
  • Manage the production aspects of events, ensuring all technical elements are in place.
  • Manage event budgets and report on expenses to stakeholders.
  • Plan and manage all event materials, including invitations and signage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure event success.
  • Provide superior service to attorneys, staff, clients, and attendees.
  • Prepare post-event evaluations to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred in event management, hospitality, marketing, or communications.
  • 3-5 years of experience in event planning or a related field, preferably in a professional services firm.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple events alongside day-to-day deliverables.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience with vendor sourcing and contract review is required.
  • Experience with webinar platforms is required.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and event technology platforms is preferred.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CRM software is preferred.
  • Certified Meeting Planner certification is preferred.
