About the position

The Event Planner at Easterseals Central Illinois is a part-time position responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of special events in Peoria and Bloomington. This role is crucial in ensuring that events are executed smoothly and effectively, aligning with the organization's mission to support children with developmental delays and disabilities. The Event Planner will work closely with the Vice President of Development to lead volunteer event committees, ensuring a productive and positive experience for all involved. This includes articulating and executing event-based fundraising strategies and promoting community awareness about the services provided by Easterseals Central Illinois. In this role, the Event Planner will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including coordinating event logistics, managing invitations and mailings, utilizing event management software, overseeing day-of-event activities, and ensuring timely acknowledgments of contributions. A significant aspect of the position involves collaborating with the marketing team to develop effective event marketing strategies and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders, including volunteers, vendors, and committee members. The Event Planner will also represent Easterseals at fundraising events, further enhancing community engagement and support for the organization. Easterseals Central Illinois has a rich history of over 100 years in helping children reach their full potential, and the Event Planner will play a vital role in continuing this legacy through successful event planning and execution. Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate all events and projects, including logistics, invitations, and day-of activities.
  • Utilize event management software for effective event planning and execution.
  • Oversee and manage event committees and meetings to ensure success.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including volunteers and vendors.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop event marketing strategies.
  • Provide support for Easterseals' comprehensive development plan.
  • Develop community contacts and relationships beneficial to Easterseals.
  • Represent Easterseals at fundraising events and functions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in special event planning, public relations, marketing, or fundraising.
  • Advanced knowledge of special event planning and event marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in working with volunteers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience in fundraising event marketing.
