About the position

The Event Planner at Husch Blackwell is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of firm and client events, including meetings, seminars, and social gatherings. This role requires a strong background in event management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and external vendors. The Event Planner will lead strategic planning sessions, manage event logistics, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure a superior service experience for all stakeholders involved.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initial planning and strategy sessions with stakeholders to align events with business goals.
  • Organize and manage all facets of firm and client meetings and events.
  • Conduct market, vendor, and venue research, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Develop and execute promotion and communication plans to drive event registration and engagement.
  • Utilize CRM systems to manage event-related data and attendee lists.
  • Oversee event logistics, including on-site support and troubleshooting.
  • Manage event budgets and report on expenses to stakeholders.
  • Plan and manage all event materials, including invitations and signage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure event success.
  • Prepare post-event evaluations to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred in event management, hospitality, marketing, or communications.
  • 3-5 years of experience in event planning or a related field, preferably in a professional services firm.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple events and day-to-day deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with vendor sourcing and contract review.
  • Experience with webinar platforms and CRM systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in event technology platforms.
  • Certified Meeting Planner certification.
