About the position

Leidos is seeking an Event Planner to take charge of planning, organizing, and executing a variety of events, including social gatherings, internal and external meetings, and other events. The Event Planner will be responsible for ensuring that all events are conducted within the defined scope and timeline while meeting customer requirements. This role requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with support staff in a fast-paced and diverse environment, focusing on delivering positive operational outcomes and exceptional customer service. The Event Planner will support customers in planning and coordinating events, ensuring that all necessary materials, equipment, and resources are available to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction with event outcomes. The primary responsibilities of the Event Planner include proactive scheduling and presenting planned events to customers, coordinating with various vendors to ensure proper event setup, delivery, and post-event activities. The Event Planner will also provide regular reports and surveys to demonstrate event completion and user satisfaction. Effective communication is essential, as the Event Planner will document accomplished checklists and event readiness reports just prior to planned events. Additionally, the role involves traveling to support offsite FTC events, conducting site visits when necessary, and providing feedback to the planning team regarding the pros and cons of potential event sites. The Event Planner will work closely with FTC staff to determine event needs, participate in conference calls and face-to-face meetings as required, and ensure that tasks and milestones are clearly communicated to all involved parties. Furthermore, the Event Planner will assist in setting up and starting virtual meetings using applications such as Teams and Zoom, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and document accomplished checklists and event readiness reports just prior to planned events
  • Travel to support offsite FTC events (local), conduct site visits when necessary, and provide feedback to the planning team of the pros and cons of potential event sites
  • Work independently with customers to obtain information on desired event outcomes and lead the planning and delivery of all event activities
  • Work with FTC staff to determine event needs and participate in conference calls and/or face-to-face meetings as required
  • Provide assistance with setting up and starting virtual meetings using applications such as Teams, Zoom, etc.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 1+ years of prior customer service experience
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality or similar field and experience with event planning preferred
  • Must be organized and have strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Event planning experience for Federal Government customers is a plus
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
