About the position

Leidos is seeking an Event Planner who will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, organization, and execution of various events, including social gatherings, internal and external meetings, and other significant events. The Event Planner will play a crucial role in ensuring that all events are conducted within the defined scope and timeline while meeting customer requirements. This position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with support staff in a fast-paced and diverse environment, focusing on achieving positive operational outcomes and delivering exceptional customer service. In this role, the Event Planner will support customers in the planning and coordination of events, ensuring that all necessary materials, equipment, and resources are available to guarantee high levels of customer satisfaction. The primary responsibilities include proactive scheduling and presenting planned events to customers, coordinating with various vendors to ensure proper event setup, delivery, and post-event activities. The Event Planner will also be responsible for providing regular reports and surveys that demonstrate the completion of litigation and deposition activities, as well as user satisfaction. The position involves communicating and documenting accomplished checklists and event readiness reports just prior to planned events. Additionally, the Event Planner will be required to travel locally to support offsite FTC events, conduct site visits when necessary, and provide feedback to the planning team regarding the pros and cons of potential event sites. Working closely with FTC staff, the Event Planner will determine event needs and participate in conference calls or face-to-face meetings as required, ensuring that tasks and milestones are clearly communicated to all involved parties. The role also includes assisting with the setup and initiation of virtual meetings using applications such as Teams and Zoom.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute various events including social events and internal/external meetings.
  • Ensure all events run within scope and time, meeting customer requirements.
  • Work independently and with support staff to drive positive operational outcomes.
  • Coordinate with customers and vendors for event setup, delivery, and post-event activities.
  • Provide regular reports and surveys demonstrating user satisfaction and event completion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 1+ years of prior customer service experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality or a similar field preferred.
  • Experience with event planning is preferred, especially for Federal Government customers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Event planning experience for Federal Government customers is a plus.
