About the position

The Wedding Specialist at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe is responsible for planning and executing weddings and related events with precision and creativity. This role focuses on crafting unforgettable wedding experiences and ensuring that each couple's dream day is realized. The specialist acts as a liaison between wedding clients and various hotel departments, overseeing all logistics from booking to the event day, while maintaining Hyatt's high standards of hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with couples to understand their vision and customize wedding packages that suit their needs and preferences.
  • Plan and coordinate every detail of weddings, including ceremony setup, food and beverage selections, décor, and guest accommodations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure flawless execution of wedding events, including catering, banquet, and audio/visual teams.
  • Manage wedding room blocks, event space reservations, billing instructions, and final reviews.
  • Serve as the on-site contact for the wedding couple and their families on the day of the event, ensuring all plans are executed smoothly.
  • Oversee post-wedding follow-up to ensure a seamless experience and create opportunities for future events and referrals.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on vendors, décor, and wedding trends to couples.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local wedding vendors and suppliers.

Requirements

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of event planning, preferably in weddings or similar events.
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge and event management software.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or event sales is preferred.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.
