About the position

The Event Planning Manager at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is responsible for managing and executing event bookings, serving as the primary liaison between meeting planners and hotel staff. This role focuses on ensuring that all aspects of events, including food, beverage, audio/visual needs, and room management, are meticulously planned and executed to meet high standards of service and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the Sales agreement for event bookings.
  • Detail all Food, Beverage, and A/V needs for events.
  • Manage room blocks and pick-up for events.
  • Provide billing instructions and conduct final reviews for events.
  • Act as the on-site contact for events, ensuring smooth execution.

Requirements

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event sales/event planning or comparable experience preferred.
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized, able to handle a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of hotel experience or completion of an Event Management trainee program.
  • Completion of PSS or equivalent training.
