About the position

The Event Planning Manager is responsible for developing and managing catering and group accounts to maximize business potential for the hotel. This role involves negotiating contracts, implementing sales and marketing strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction while meeting revenue goals. The manager will also create customized packages, conduct site inspections, and maintain strong relationships with clients and hotel departments to facilitate successful events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage group and catering accounts to maximize business potential.
  • Negotiate group and catering business and contracts that meet or exceed hotel revenue goals.
  • Make on-site and field presentations to prospective clients.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell customers through various offerings.
  • Drive strategies to develop long-term business relationships and repeat business.
  • Prospect for new catering business using various methods.
  • Conduct unique site inspections that create a WOW experience for the customer.
  • Create customized Wedding Packages, Menus, and proposals.
  • Respond to all customer inquiries within 24 hours or sooner.
  • Maintain accurate information on all bookings and client correspondence.
  • Follow proper event management procedures for event execution.
  • Produce and distribute accurate banquet/catering event orders and timelines.
  • Coordinate, plan and implement wedding-related marketing tactics and events.
  • Lead weekly BEO readings and provide client support.
  • Maintain liaison with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and clients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • 1-2 years experience in Sales and/or Catering in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • Ability to provide and maintain a valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of education.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of Windows OS and MS Office.
