About the position

The Rigging Services Manager at ON Site is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of rigging services in a hospitality environment. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure that all rigging activities are executed safely and efficiently. The manager will be tasked with the daily set-up, operation, and dismantling of rigging hoists and truss systems, ensuring that all equipment is properly secured and compliant with safety standards. The role involves establishing hang-points, attaching motors to permanent rigging points, and managing the intricate details of audio hangs and cable management. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Rigging Services Manager will play a crucial role in supervising and mentoring rigging technicians, fostering a culture of safety and excellence within the team. The manager will also be responsible for coordinating load-in schedules with the AV Operations team, ensuring that all rigging plots are approved in accordance with house production policies. This includes verifying rigging obstacles and recommending necessary changes to optimize the rigging process. The position requires a proactive approach to safety, with ongoing visual inspections of all rigging hardware, including motors and lifts. The manager will also be responsible for completing all required daily paperwork and participating in ON Site training programs. This role is essential in supporting the property Director in achieving goals related to revenue growth, cost reduction, customer service improvement, and effective problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Daily set, operation, and strike of rigging hoists and truss in a hospitality environment
  • Establish hang-point, motor attachment to permanent rigging points, GAC Flex spanset attachments to trusses, run and dress motor cables, focus audio hangs, run cable picks
  • Ensure safety of scenic elements, all truss bolts and tightened and all flown equipment has appropriate safeties attached
  • Approve all rig plots in accordance with house production policies
  • Verify any rigging obstacles and recommend changes
  • Coordinate load-in schedule with AV Operations
  • Supervise and mentor staff rigging technician(s)
  • Maintain ongoing visual inspection of all hardware, including motors and lifts
  • Complete all required daily paperwork, as well as required ON Site training
  • Any duties as assigned to support property Director, to assist in goals of growing revenue, cutting cost, improving customer service scores, or problem resolution

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
  • Five years' experience rigging in audio visual or staging environment
  • ETCP Arena Rigging Certification required
  • Written, verbal, and comprehension skills in English required
  • Fluency in a second language is helpful
  • Organization skills and attention to detail are essential
  • Must have finger dexterity to operate office and audio visual equipment as needed
  • Proficiency in computer skills must be demonstrated, including CAD and Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Requires physical mobility, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, climbing, crawling, grasping, writing, repetitive motions, bending, listening, with applicable hearing and vision ability
