We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Event Sales and Catering Specialist to join our team at The Main Deck in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region. The Main Deck restaurant has a commitment to exceptional culinary experiences, showcasing the finest local ingredients and wines from the Finger Lakes. Sitting on the shores of Keuka Lake in the town of Penn Yan, our restaurant offers a picturesque setting for weddings, corporate events, and special celebrations. As our Event Sales and Catering Specialist, you will be responsible for driving revenue through the planning and execution of events at our restaurant. Your role will involve cultivating relationships with clients and prospects to generate event bookings, creating partnerships with local lodging industry leaders to help create opportunities to work together on large events, and collaborating with clients to tailor event packages, coordinating logistics, and ensuring seamless execution. You will also be responsible for the execution and operational support of the event, working closely with our culinary team to create personalized menus that showcase our seasonal offerings. In addition, you will develop strategies to promote our event services, leveraging digital platforms and local partnerships, take a lead on curating entertainment, wine dinners, and paid events, and ensure every guest has a memorable experience that exceeds their expectations. As needed, there will be a requirement to support our restaurant team by managing a service, expediting, and dealing with guests.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in event sales, catering, or hospitality management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and negotiate effectively.
  • Organizational prowess and attention to detail to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the Finger Lakes region and its culinary offerings is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
