About the position

The Event Sales and Marketing Manager at Butternut Farm Golf Club is a full-time role focused on driving wedding sales and managing event planning processes. This position allows for remote work with specific in-person responsibilities, including meetings and events. The manager will interact directly with prospective couples, oversee marketing initiatives, and ensure smooth execution of events, particularly weddings.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to lead inquiries within 12 hours.
  • Schedule and conduct appointments with prospective couples.
  • Provide in-person tours of the venue, lasting 45-60 minutes.
  • Follow up with couples within 24-48 hours post-appointment.
  • Maintain communication via email, phone, and Zoom to address all questions.
  • Manage the deposit and contract process for booked couples.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding confirmed bookings and manage necessary deposits.
  • Continue support for couples through the planning process until four months prior to their wedding.
  • Follow up with couples post-wedding to request reviews on industry sites like WeddingWire and The Knot.
  • Oversee Function Managers and coordinate monthly meetings to address challenges and develop solutions.
  • Serve as Function Manager for 5-10 weddings annually, participating in key planning meetings and day-of execution.
  • Collaborate with the Function Manager to ensure all details are aligned and executed smoothly.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media plan for both the golf course and wedding venue.
  • Work with Golf Now to ensure the website and social media content align with marketing strategies.
  • Regularly update industry sites such as WeddingWire and The Knot with fresh content.
  • Conduct annual competitive analysis to inform pricing and service offerings.
  • Hire, train, and manage Function Managers and event staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Foster relationships with wedding industry vendors to enhance service offerings.
  • Annually analyze the cost-effectiveness of events, making recommendations for pricing or product changes.
  • Present findings from competitive analyses and event evaluations to management for approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of event sales and marketing experience, or an Associate's degree with a minimum of 4 years of event sales and marketing experience.
  • Proven experience in sales, marketing, or event management, particularly in the wedding industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and marketing strategies.
  • Experience with contract negotiation and vendor management.
  • Intermediate level of Excel experience.
