About the position

The Sales Manager at Encore Global is a pivotal role responsible for guiding customers through their event experiences, ensuring that their goals and objectives are met to create compelling events. This position requires a proactive approach to sales, utilizing Encore's established sales processes and methodologies to secure business and maximize revenue capture from an assigned customer base. The Sales Manager will work closely with hotel personnel to enhance business relationships and support company initiatives and core values. In this role, the Sales Manager will be tasked with revenue generation by soliciting and securing business through a consultative sales approach. This includes preparing and presenting quotes and proposals in a timely manner, collaborating with vendors and other departments to service events, and attending site visits and pre-conference planning meetings. A strong understanding of event cost structures is essential, as the Sales Manager will need to incorporate this knowledge into solution designs while adhering to profitability guidelines. Relationship management is another key aspect of this position. The Sales Manager will cultivate and maintain relationships with customers and venue personnel, ensuring that customer information is accurately maintained in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This role also involves actively referring customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities. Sales accountability is critical, as the Sales Manager must maintain a healthy pipeline to achieve established revenue targets, support sales forecasting efforts, and stay updated on new product offerings and emerging technologies in the events industry. The work environment is dynamic, taking place in hotel and convention center settings, with exposure to various conditions and the need for flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and secure business through a proactive, consultative sales approach.
  • Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and appropriate venue meetings as necessary.
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate this into solution designs according to profitability guidelines.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers and venue personnel.
  • Research and understand customer history to create personalized experiences.
  • Ensure all customer information is accurate in the CRM system.
  • Refer and guide customers through the Encore network for additional opportunities.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets.
  • Support sales forecasting efforts and ensure accuracy.
  • Stay updated on new product/service offerings and emerging technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or 1+ years of Encore or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 year of technology sales or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred.
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
