About the position

The Sales Manager, Venues at Encore Global is a pivotal role responsible for guiding customers through their event experiences, ensuring that their goals and objectives are met to create compelling events. This position requires a proactive and consultative sales approach, utilizing Encore's established sales processes and methodologies to secure business and maximize revenue capture from an assigned customer base. The Sales Manager will work closely with key hotel personnel to enhance business relationships and support company initiatives, business strategies, and core values. Reporting to a Senior Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director of Event Technology, this role is integral to the success of the event experience provided by Encore Global. In this role, the Sales Manager will be tasked with revenue generation by actively soliciting and securing business opportunities. This includes preparing and presenting quotes and proposals in a timely manner, collaborating with vendors and other departments to service events effectively, and attending site visits and pre-conference planning meetings. A thorough understanding of the event cost structure is essential, as the Sales Manager will need to incorporate this knowledge into solution designs while adhering to established profitability guidelines. Relationship management is another key responsibility, as the Sales Manager must cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, venue personnel, and various Encore departments. This involves researching customer history to create personalized experiences and ensuring that all customer information is accurately maintained in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for maintaining a healthy sales pipeline to achieve established revenue targets and supporting sales forecasting efforts at their location. The work environment for this position is primarily within hotel and convention center settings, which may involve exposure to outdoor temperatures and varying noise levels. Team members will utilize high-end audio-visual equipment and may work at multiple hotel locations, requiring flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Adherence to appearance guidelines set by Encore is also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and secure business through a proactive, consultative sales approach.
  • Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and appropriate venue meetings as necessary.
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate this into solution designs according to profitability guidelines.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers and venue personnel.
  • Research and understand customer history to create personalized experiences.
  • Ensure all customer information is accurate in the CRM system.
  • Refer and guide customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve established revenue targets.
  • Support sales forecasting efforts and ensure accuracy in submissions.
  • Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 1+ years of Encore or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 year of technology sales or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred.
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
