About the position

The Event Sales Manager at Marriott Marquis San Diego is responsible for guiding customers through event experiences, ensuring their goals and objectives are met while maximizing revenue capture. This role involves cultivating relationships with hotel personnel and supporting company initiatives and strategies to enhance the overall event experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue generation by soliciting and securing business through a proactive sales approach.
• Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers.
• Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
• Attend site visits and pre-conference planning meetings to support customer events.
• Understand event cost structures and incorporate them into solution designs according to profitability guidelines.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers and venue personnel to deliver world-class service.
• Research customer history to create personalized experiences.
• Ensure customer information is accurate in the CRM system at all times.
• Refer and guide customers through the Encore network for additional opportunities.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets.
• Support sales forecasting efforts and ensure accuracy in submissions.
• Stay updated on new product/service offerings and emerging technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 1+ years of Encore or equivalent experience required.
• 1 year of technology sales or hospitality experience preferred.
• Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus.
• Knowledge of the hospitality industry and sales processes preferred.
• Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
